Position: Sales Director – Electrical Power Distribution Sales Management

Reporting to: General Manager

Location: United States

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead our electrical sales team in the United States. This role will be responsible for managing a team of 20 sales professionals across various segments including transmission and distribution, low voltage components OEM, and low voltage component channels. The Sales Director will be accountable for driving sales performance, managing a sales volume exceeding 100 million USD, and will report to the General Manager in the United States.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Performance: Achieve and exceed sales targets set by the management for the electrical components and high voltage equipment sectors.
  2. Team Management: Lead and manage a diverse team of 20 sales professionals in USA and Canada, ensuring they are aligned with company goals and objectives.
  3. Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in power companies, Independent Power Producers, alternative energy developers, and large project developers.
  4. Market Opportunities: Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, winning new business and expanding our customer base.
  5. Sales Forecasting: Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales order and forecast reports, ensuring accurate tracking of sales data and hitting targets.
  6. Strategic Planning: Work closely with the General Manager to develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives.
  7. Cross-Cultural Management: Manage and communicate effectively across different time zones and cultures, particularly with China-based teams.
  8. Sales Enablement: Provide clear direction and strategy for the sales team, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to succeed.
  9. Collaboration: Cooperate with marketing and product management teams to execute marketing events, exhibitions, and develop solutions.
  10. Market Intelligence: Collect and analyze market trends, competitor analysis, and other relevant information to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Managing a sales team of 10+, for 5 + years.
  2. Education: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred or a technical degree in engineering or science.
  3. Sales Experience: Proven sales management experience in T&D and Low Voltage Power systems, experience with companies such as ABB, Eaton, Toshiba, Schneider, or Siemens is preferred and ideal.
  4. Industry Knowledge: Familiar with the local energy industry and power distribution system is preferred.
  5. Network: An established network within power companies, Independent Power Producers, alternative energy developers, and large project developers is a strong advantage.
  6. Sales Volume: A record of managing sales teams with a volume exceeding 100 million USD.
  7. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with fluency in English.
  8. Work Ethic: A diligent spirit, proactive and positive attitude, and the ability to handle sales target pressure.
  9. Analytical Skills: Ability to structure and analyze situations, propose measures, implement, and follow up effectively.
  10. Cross-Cultural Competence: Experience in cross-cultural management and the ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
  11. Leadership: Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide the sales team towards achieving their goals.
