Affectionately know as the ‘CHINT Big
Mac’ , this huge 525kV 525MVA three-phase auto-transformer fully
meets high American standards – ANSI/IEEE C57.12.00, and seismic
qualifications – IEEE 693-2005 High 0.5g RRS. The team performed
rigorous quality checks and prepared the transformer for transportation
from the Chint factory for a western US Utility company, where it has
been functioning since 2021.
